Abstrak

Cryptocurrency telah berkembang pesat dan digunakan dalam berbagai transaksi lintas batas. Namun, potensi negatifnya termasuk penyalahgunaan untuk kejahatan seperti proliferasi senjata pemusnah massal (PPSPM). Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana cryptocurrency dapat digunakan dalam pendanaan PPSPM dan tantangan yang dihadapi untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian normatif dengan pendekatan konseptual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik cryptocurrency seperti anonimitas tinggi dan transaksi lintas batas membuat pelaku PPSPM lebih mudah menyembunyikan jejak pendanaan. Selain itu, kurangnya transparansi dalam blockchain menambah kesulitan dalam melacak dana PPSPM. Saran dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya kerja sama internasional yang lebih kuat dan sistem keuangan yang mampu mendeteksi dan mencegah penyebaran bahan nuklir.
